I've been pondering using this as an edible. How much do you think is a reasonable dose? About how many bowls worth is in a standard edible?

You smoke it. My current batch I was too impatient to let 100% of the alcohol evaporate, but it was fairly crystalized in the alcohol (which is a sign of good purity, by the way). So it was kind of a thin syrup that I dripped onto bowls and then let it dry before lighting.
If you let it dry completely, I'm not sure of an easy way to add it to a bowl. As a result, I think the easiest thing to do is to evaporate all the ethanol, and then add back just enough to dissolve it a little bit so that you can drip it (with a sterile eyedropper -- yes, I have plenty of those) onto a bowl.
Let me know what you guys think about all of this, and especially about the easiest way to add it to bowls.

That's true, sort of. You would end up extracting some from the bud itself, and leaving some in the container you "marinate" in (it's a fact of life that when you have a solution in a container, some of the solution sticks to container, no matter what you do).
In a sense, that's what I was saying also. I marinated each bowl individually though, so that less was lost to container surfaces.
I've been mulling it over more, and I think I'm sticking with one of the ideas I mentioned: I think the best way to use this is to let it evaporate completely, and then add back just enough EtOH to bring the goodness back into solution, then apply a couple drops to a bowl and it should dry in under 15 minutes.
I forgot to mention this earlier, but I made a couple of mega-bowls over the weekend. I put a few drops on a bowl, then let it dry. Then I put a few more drops and let those dry. I repeated that a few times (can't remember how many, as it wasn't my first bowl), and it almost made my head explode.

you think you could let it evaporate in a plastic box or somethin and get residue you could scrape up? with like a razorblade or somethin. then line a j or chop with it like makin a chewy. save for the blow acorse...
Yes, and No
Yes, you certainly could evap it in a box of some sort and it will crystallize fairly well. The problem is that no matter how hard you try to scrape it with your razor blade, or whatever, you'll still leave a fairly large amount behind. And then, yes, you would sprinkle over a bowl and it would be amazing. The problem is efficiency. You lose an unexpectedly large amount every time you transfer it to a new container, no matter what you do and no matter what the container is made out of -- even teflon isn't perfect.

Yes, glass is a good surface for such things. But there are still lots of problems. Glass typically isn't perfectly smooth, but has small ripples in it. Glass is a great material to store things like this in because it's almost completely inert, so you don't end up leaching plastic into your liquid. However, it's a little tricky to recover things from glass. You definitely wouldn't want to scrape glass with a razor blade. If you were lucky enough not to scratch the glass, it would be a lot like dragging nails across a chalkboard. Often in a chemistry class you'll scrape things off of glass with a metal spatula. This is not only a very tedious way to do it, but you scratch the glass a little and end up with small glass crystals in whatever you're trying to recover.
Yes, it's true that if you use a vessel repeatedly it makes it much better. You lose very little each subsequent time you use the vessel after your initial use and initial irrecoverable loss.
