B.Y.A. Studios All we need is a cow...

So there has been some questions that have arisen about the site and it's creation. Basically this is something that Mallard and Boar have been thinking about for a long time. We want this space to evolve into a place for all of us to host our work (whatever that may be) and share our thoughts. It may not be very close to that goal right now, but building a web page of that magnitude takes time and work. There's many different programs and services to try out before we will be able to do stuff like host our own movies or music. But in time we hope to get there. What you all are viewing right now is by no means the final page. It is ever expanding and changing.

This is where you guys come in. We need feed back of all types coming in to be able to make the site as functional as possible. Suggestions like Skunk's are not only welcome, they are necessary. Once we hear from you we can do our best to make the appropriate changes.

In regards to Skunks questions:

1. We decided to use drupal because it provides a simple and modular base for a large group. I can make and manage accounts very easily, add functionality with relative ease, and make the process of uploading media very user friendly. This site is meant to be used by all of us, and not everyone knows how the access an ftp server. We have to keep that in mind.

2. Recently we have played around with the idea of adding a forum to the site. Drupal actually comes with a forum built in which we will probably try out. But simply having a form and nothing else wouldn't satisfy all of our hopes for the site. Basically this is in the works and will be up as soon as we can get it working to our satisfaction. Until then please pardon our shitty, shitty blog system.

3. The theme we are using right now is just a place holder. There is a good chance that we will modify it to meet our needs at some point soon. But as far a having a darker theme goes, that's one of the cool parts about Drupal. Each user can have their own custom theme! I happen to like it brighter, but if you want it darker I can change some settings and make it so that when you log in you have a darker theme. I just need to dick around with CSS some more.

4. Jesus Christ is the comment system ever so shitty! We're working on that.

In regards to Ground Squirrel's questions:

1. This site is meant to be a lot of things. But don't confuse it for a Yick Wo club. This is a space for all of use to host stuff we want to share with others. But other than that it's a place for all of us (including Colt) to communicate. I believe that we are all big enough boys to accept that we won't always live in the same place. You're down in Santa Cruz, Mule is up in zombie infested Willamette, we're all over Cali! As time comes this will become even more common. After all, we are separate people with different hopes and aspirations. I'm hoping that this site can become a place for all of us to go to see each other. To put it poetically, I want this site to be a piece of SF you can have with you in the coldest hills of the north or the hottest deserts of the south.
